MARENLAND recreation is an very varied medium-sized recreation company situated on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Winsum (13 km north of the city of Groningen). It is situated in the heart of a rising tourist area, the so-called … Maren area of the province of Groningen, or Lauwersland. Winsum is directly located on several (ANWB) canoe, bicycle and walking routes, e.g. the LAW (= Long Distance Walking route) Pieterpad. By offering various leisure products one gets an opportunity to get to know the many varied possibilities of the Maren area of the province of Groningen and Lauwersland. Winsum is situated on road N361 and can easily be reached by train and bus. There are many possibilities for active rest seekers and nature lovers (gardens, birds, the Wadden), culture (manors, regional museums, art galleries) and historical/agricultural elements (impressive farms, manor houses, mills). Furthermore the city of Groningen is well worth a visit.
